St. James advises us
“Is anyone among you sick? …let him call for the elders of the church [priest], and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
God has made the provision for the sacrament for healing and preparation for death. This Sacrament unites the suffering of the sick person to the sufferings of Christ. It forgives all sins, which the sick person felt true sorrow for but was unable to confess.
Who can receive this Sacrament?
Every second Saturday of each month we administer the Sacrament of the Sick to those afflicted by illness (physical and spiritual). For those who are homebound by illness a Priest may go, depending on the need, to administer the Anointing of the Sick or the Last Rites on preparation for death and entrance into eternal life.
